ONE lane of the West Wycombe Road was closed today after a car smash.

The collision, which is believed to have taken place between 3.30pm and 4pm, involved a Landrover Defender, and a smaller red car, of unconfirmed make.

Police and paramedics attended the scene, near to the traffic light controlled junction with Plomer Hill.

Marc Lister, spokesman for South Central Ambulance Service said: "There was one male in the 4x4 who was fine. In the smaller car there was a male and female in their mid-to-late 40s.

"The male sustained minor head injuries that were treated and dressed on the scene, and the female had a minor leg injury, also treated at the scene."

He added that no one involved had to be taken to hospital.

Why is it surprising? Head injury could just mean minor cut not massive trauma! Use some common sense please! Do you really think the Paramedics would not take someone to hospital that needed to go? They are professional people after all!!!

The right turn filter light is there for a reason. I wish I had £1 for every car that goes through before it goes green.

I may be wrong but I think that you can turn right at those lights even if the filter light is red, as long as the main lights are green. If the main traffic lights had a green arrow pointing ahead then you would have to wait for the filter light.

The right hand lane has its own lights, you can only go when they're green! Seems some people have yet to learn to drive.

Why do I need to learn to drive. This is a quote from the Highway Code .
Junctions controlled by traffic lights
Green filter arrow. This indicates a filter lane only. Do not enter that lane unless you want to go in the direction of the arrow. You may proceed in the direction of the green arrow when it, or the full green light shows. Give other traffic, especially cyclists, time and room to move into the correct lane
OK so if it had a filter light the above applies. It definitely does not have its own set of lights !!! maybe you should stop personally attacking people.

I suggest you open your eyes the next time you pass that junction. I'll await your apology.

If a red light is showing then I believe you should stop.

If others don't believe that, then we may have a reason for so many crashes.

One set of roads, two sets of rules.

It is not a filter lane at Plomer green junction - it is farther down the road for Downley Hill where you go under the bridge. Plomer Green turning when the light is red - you stop, when it is green you go - SIMPLE AS! the highway code snippet would apply to the other junction previously mentioned. Although no-one looks at the colour of the lights there - they just go for it!

What are you lot like?! This is a complete non-story, and you are making a big thing out of what MIGHT have happened. Not even Ivor has wasted his talents on this one.

An accident so minor that no one went to hospital is not news.

All the the comments about jumping lights are based on pure supposition and my be irrelevant to this case.

Supposition... But there is a problem with idiots jumping the lights in Wyckam Innit.

I beg to differ, kazza. On the 3 occassions I drove towards West Wycombe today there was definitely a filter lane going to Downley at Plomer Hill (in addition to the one going to Downley at The Pastures). Straight on and turn right are controlled separately with arrows - Juggleybear, please note - you only go if the green arrow points in the direction you want to travel.

They are not controlled by arrows at Plomer Green junction. I drive this way every day just a green light.

I can only surmise that you drive this way every day with your eyes closed!

There were arrows there this morning! I just hope I never meet any of you unobservant drivers on the road.
