Teenage whizzes breathe life into website

TEENAGE computer whizzes have breathed new life into a weary looking website.

Year 12 pupils from Great Marlow school in Bobmare Lane re-designed the outdated Marlow Chamber of Trade site as part of a competition.

They vied with a year 8 pairing to come up with the new look and were awarded the top prize - a Nintendo DS each. The runners up won £40 gift vouchers from WHSmith.

Chamber president Tim Bovy said: "It went really well, everybody was impressed by how hard they all worked. What came across to the executive was the fact they did all of this outside school hours - all the time they put in was voluntary and nothing to do with the curriculum."

The teams had four months to work on the project, using web development software.

Mr Bovy added: "It was such a good experience all around and helped solidify our relationship with the school."

The new look website will launch in August after some fine tuning and the year 8 team will also help with the final version.

Just to put this out there. Is there any chance they meant breathe not breath? I think the BFP need to sort out their spelling. Spell check is obviously not enough.

Why can't we comment on the story "Family's tribute to teen crash victim"? Normally we can post messages of condolence and sympathy for the tragic, untimely death of a yound person. Is it because the last paragraph of the report tells a different story to the family's tribute???

This web site is fine. I like it the way it is!

Do the children re-design shopping centres? If so perhaps they could breathe some life into the weary complex?

Have you read Ivor’s blog today? Click on the “Opinion” link on the menu on the left then click on “Readers Blogs”.

No?

Oh okay - I must wipe my rose tinted spectacles down. Parking was a real problem but i suppose the cars all belonged to other people who were going elsewhere and not to eden.
