Pub to become hotel?

PLANS to convert a High Wycombe pub into a hotel have been submitted.

The Wendover Arms in Desborough Avenue could become a 39-bed hotel if planning permission is given.

Under the proposals, the building would be extended and "remodelled".

A decision on whether or not to grant planning permission will be made by Wycombe District Council later this year.

Another of the towns land mark buildings bites the dust. We have enough hotels here already so why do we need another?

Great news this, hope they pass it. Hotels have bars in, so we can get a drink. More importantly we DO need more hotel bedroom space within the town. This will also bring more employment, into the town centre area.

I'm all for it if the pub remains and is extended for the rooms

How can it remain a pub if the proposal is to make it into a hotel???? surely as its a pub now it would become a hotel. I may be wrong but I thought pubs and hotels were ctwo different things???

Lets just hope that this isn't a get rich quick scheme where the owner of the "hotel" rents rooms to the DSS for the homeless who need emergency housing or am I just being cynical?

Kazza think you are in wrong place - the Wendover Arms is in Desborough Avenue not Desborough Road, its not long been re-furbished into a Thai restaurant.

Perhaps the new owner needs to recoup some money cos from what I've heard he's not doing a roaring trade!!

Desborough Rd may be a sh*t hole, but it allows quick access to the M40 and away from here...
