SITTING Conservative MP David Lidington has been reselected to fight the upcoming general election in Aylesbury.

The decision was made unanimously at a meeting of Aylesbury Conservative Association's executive council last Wednesday.

Chairman Tricia Birchley said she was delighted.

"David has worked tremendously hard to support all elements of the electorate in Aylesbury and has proved himself as a popular and extremely able MP and Shadow Secretary of State for Northern Ireland," she said.

Mr Lidington also said he was delighted and that he hoped he would have the chance to serve the people of the Aylesbury constituency for a further term.

The election is expected to be on May 5, the day of the county council elections.

Mr Lidington became MP for Aylesbury in May 1992. The constituency includes the Princes Risborough and Stokenchurch areas.
